As part of the vibrant programme surrounding the Aotearoa Art Fair, Sanderson's Director Lydia Cowpertwait and the Director of the Arts House Trust, Anita Tótha, provided an exclusive tour of Morphologies - the striking exhibition by award winning conceptual artist and photographer Mickey Smith at the Arts House Trust.
Guests were treated to a unique guided experience of the exhibition providing an opportunity to gain deeper insight into Smith's internationally acclaimed practice and the conceptual foundations underpinning her work.
Throughout the tour, Cowpertwait and Tótha guided guests through several significant bodies of work, including Smith's new celebrated Hereford series, Volume series, and the ambitious Carnegie project. Their commentary illuminated the artist's ongoing investigation into the materiality of books, the transformation of knowledge, and the relationship between language, objects, and cultural memory.
The afternoon concluded with refreshments in the Arts House Trust boardroom, providing guests with the opportunity to continue conversations sparked by the exhibition in an intimate and convivial setting.
