Sanderson are delighted to partner with the Aotearoa Art Fair and Karen Walker providing a womens art activation within the Karen Walker Britomart store, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.
The activation features works by two female artists Julia Holderness and Josephine Cachemaille. Both artists practices' are multi disciplinary and materially led. Holderness provided a collage, watercolour painting and framed textile artwork from her Villa Margaux series, which feature on the main wall by the checkout and changing rooms, as well as pieces from her latest ceramics collection 'In the Garden Studio', which will be showcased at the Aotearoa Art Fair 2026. Cachemaille has provided purposefully made fired ceramic works featuring gestural hands and feat and a large mixed media sculptural 'arm' titled Futures that is installed in the central column in the store.
As part of the activation the Aotearoa Art Fair and Karen Walker hosted a talk with gallerist Lydia Cowpertwait and artists, which was part of the VIP programme.
