Rachel Grimwood (Pākehā/English) is an artist exploring animism, myth and mysticism as living forces in the present. Improvisational collaboration with materials and ecologies underpin her relational and often playful investigations. Grounded in the physicality and intelligence of her own body, appreciated as a temporary companion, she investigates the porous boundaries between human and more-than-human life, matter, mystery, chance, and transformation. Rachel completed a PgDip at Elam School of Fine Arts in 2024 and is currently undertaking an MFA. She is a Doctor of Psychology and has practiced in that field. Rachel presented a solo exhibition at Project Space in 2024 and has participated in numerous group exhibitions.
