Su Nelson’s art practice celebrates the unique properties and voices of scrappy remnants and diverse-but-interrelated mash-ups—exploring the inter-worlds of materiality, psychology, and relational pluralities through a broad range of rescued, readymade, and handmade objects. By working with rescued raw materials, rejected remnants, by-products, and found objects, Nelson explores the ongoingness of preservation and renewal to capture aspects of a space or context into sculptural form.
