Wi Taepa included in Column Rota Exhibition - Museo de la Ciudad de México

Sanderson are pleased to announce three works by Wi Taepa (Te Arawa, Ngāti Whakaue, Te Āti Awa) ONZM will feature in the upcoming exhibition 'Column Rota / Broken Column' at the Museo de la Ciudad de México 2025-2026. 

 

The exhibition is curated by Francisco Berzunza Lara and will be on display at the museum from November 8th 2025 through to March 8th 2026. 

 

The three works by Taepa will be on display alongside artworks by esteemed artists including Alfredo Jaar, Marlene Dumas and Frida Kahlo. The exhibition will include Frida Kahlo’s famous drawing Preparatory Sketch for The Broken Column (1944), from which the exhibition takes its name.

 

The Museum of Mexico City (Museo d e la Ciudad d e México) was founded in 1961, in the former palace of the Count of Santiago de Calimaya. The building is located near the gravesite of Hernan Cortés, as well as muralist José Clemente Orozco's last masterpiece 'Apocalypse' , 1942-1944, in downtown Mexico City.
