Hope Manaakitia Korewha (Ngāpuhi, Hokianga) is a painter based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Korewha recently won the AD24 Toi Māia Award with Auckland University of Technology & Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki Awards for her cultural contributions to mātauranga Māori and indigenous knowledge and excellent performance. Korewha recently completed her final year of the Bachelor of Visual Arts Te Tohu Paetahi mō Toi Ataata at AUT.

‘My practice revolves around oil painting, creating introspective, gentle mindscapes that evoke the ephemeral nature of memory. At its heart, my art explores absence and the idea of home.'
