"An unexamined life is not worth living." Socrates
Josephine Cachemaille’s exhibition FEEL UP! urges us to join her in an optimistic, animist fantasy where we become more connected, positive beings, traversing modern boundaries between persons and things. The gallery installation appears to be the site of a kind of "encounter group" therapy session with costumes and comical prop-like objects, coaxing us to touch, prod and investigate ourselves, each other and our relationship with the material world.
Feel Up runs concurrently with Vaimaila Urale's Embed in Room Two, both exhibitions have a special opening event held on Friday 14 October from 5:30pm.
FLOOR TALK; 10- 11am Saturday 15 October; Josephine Cachemaille and Vaimaila Urale create an interactive social space within the gallery - inviting people to engage with and activate the artworks. Both exhibitions and all events are a part of Auckland Art Week 2016.
