Like many women artists before her, Jacquelyn Greenbank's practice employs a more domestic approach to art making.
Greenback utilises found objects, recycled materials and meticulously intricate handcrafted objects that capture a moment, sensation or pseudo historical event. Inquisitively weaving narratives that often blend social histories and the occult, popular culture and the paranormal in a unique and often humorous way.
Since Graduating Canterbury University School of Fine Arts with a Distinction in Painting Greenbank has exhibited in galleries and biennials both here in New Zealand and internationally. Her work is held in major public and private collections. She was awarded the Olivia Spencer Bower residency 2015-16.
Jacquelyn Greenbank lives at the base of the Rapaki track in Christchurch with her partner Jamie Richardson, her daughter Jet and her stafford Joan.
