Alan Pearson's works are illustrations of the human condition, a wistful yearning, a whispered hope for the survival in the midst of this relentless force, and symphonic depictions of energy. In 'Sea Pictures', tiny figures cavort through the range of landscape elements, waif-like and careless. The symbolic elements include icons from the coal mining history (and present) of the West Coast, vertical mine shafts making up an almost snakes and ladders composition that the figures must navigate to ensure thier survival.
